The Ten Best Cities for Art Lovers – Personally I don’t agree with this list, but interesting!  How on earth Paris, NYC and La Hermitage in St. Petersburg don’t make the top ten – crazy! Not to mention Madrid,  https://www.travelandleisure.com/trip-ideas/city-vacations/best-art-cities-in-the-world

Let’s keep in mind too – Art is in the Eye of the Beholder. So perhaps the above author is placing value on her favorite types of art. For example, maybe Seattle has great Street Art, and that’s what she is valuing. Were she rating “Fine Art” the list just couldn’t be taken seriously.

I paint, and we love to see great paintings – Cézanne comes to mind. When we travel to Great Art Cities, we head to Paris, NY, London, St. Petersburg, Madrid, and then on to Rome to dine and look at golden Old Masters. (Venice, believe it or not, I still haven’t seen!) And then maybe on to Uzbekistan to see the Savitsky Collection.

I also love German Expressionism, so that’s going to generate a whole other list of cities, such as Berlin, Munich, and Wiesbaden, and the The Kröller-Müller Museum is located in the heart of De Hoge Veluwe National Park – Netherlands.

And I just found this little gem:

The obvious answer is Lenbachhaus.

Neue Pinakothek also has quite a bit.

Yes, visit the region where the Blue Rider artists actually lived and worked. There are some smaller museums in these places, for example:
