We planned a long layover through Jeddah in Saudi Arabia – as Saudi Arabia is finally open to tourists. People were lovely, the world of dates is a complete rabbit hole onto itself – and delcious, and the whole country is definitely worth a lot more exploration.
I do have friends that say they will never visit Saudi Arabia due to the country’s human rights position re gay, re women, etc. We are more in line with the philosopy of Captain Kirk and the US Enterprise:
